Famous people or key historical events are often marked (by English Heritage particularly) with the use of “Blue Plaques”. The idea of erecting memorial tablets in London was first proposed by William Ewart MP in the House of Commons in 1863, with the first plaque being erected in 1867 in London to mark the poet Lord Byron.
Plaques of all types an colours (although blue & white are traditional) are used widely by councils, individuals, trusts and other public bodies to provide a lasting statement of the achievements of an individual or group of people or to mark an important event.
Leander Architectural offer several options for the common 15″ plaques.
By default (unless additional options are selected from below), your plaque design will be as per the “BP15 – Standard font & standard layout” plaque as seen in the adjacent images – finished in Blue with white lettering. Other colours can be specified – please add this to your requirements below.
If you require a bespoke border and bespoke fonts, please select this option (& see the”BP15 – With Bespoke text/layout option” in the adjacent images).
If you require an image adding to the plaque, please select this option (& see the”BP15 – With Bespoke text and additional graphic options” in the adjacent images). Images can be adjusted and edited to suit at additional charge – (£30).
All our plaques a supplied fully finished in 2 variants – Screw fixing or hidden fixing lugs (see images). The screw fixing version is supplied with stainless steel screws painted to match the plaque.
ALL ORDERS WILL RECEIVE AN INITIAL DRAFT TO APPROVE (OR ADJUST) PRIOR TO PRODUCTION STARTING. Typical lead times are 4-5 weeks from design approval/freeze. If you need your order sooner please select the ‘Accelerate Order’ add on.
